Sector

health tech / ambient monitoring

Cappsule is building passive, ambient health monitoring for aging and chronically ill patients, with no wearables and no cameras. We designed the hardware: a system that watches over someone without asking them to wear, charge, or interact with anything.

The brief was a product that disappears into a home but is dependable enough to trust with someone's safety.

The problem

Ambient monitoring only works if people forget it is there. The hardware had to sense across a room with no camera or microphone, read as home decor rather than a medical device, and give caregivers useful signal without making the patient feel watched.

What we did

  • Industrial design of the system: a wall-mounted sensing unit and a small companion tag, in one quiet, non-medical white language so it sits in a living room, not a clinic.
  • A passive presence: 360-degree sensing with no lights or beeps, placed once and then ignored.
  • CAD and prototyping: a 3D-print-ready assembly so the design could be built and checked in hand.
  • Renders and animation for the pitch and the product page.

Outcome

Designed from concept through a 3D-print-ready prototype assembly.
